Youth Service

The Workcentre is the local Youth Service provider for Golden Bay and Motueka.

We also offer Youth Education and have information and contact details for Youth Counselling

Making the right decisions now about your future can help you get further, faster.

If you’re a young person and things aren’t working out, the Workcentre is here to support you and to ensure that you can access the assistance that you need.

This free service aims to get young people into education, training or work-based learning to help them gain the skills to find a job and have an independent future.

Our coaches are based within the community and will talk you through your options, give guidance, support and encouragement to help you find the education, training or work-based learning that works for you, and get you where you want to be.

Youth Service

There are three parts to Youth Service.

Youth Parent Payment (YPP)

If you’re aged 16 - 19 and you’re responsible for a child, you might be able to get a payment towards your living costs.

Not in Education, Training or Work or (NEET)

If you're aged 16 -17 and not in school or education, we can support you to stay in school, or get back into education if you have left.
